Reflections on Psalm 91
Psalm 91 is our loving God’s promises as we cling to Him in a world that is downright scary. There are three little thoughts or phrases that take the truth of those promises and line them up for us as we face uncertain days and are called to trust Him.
Be at home. Vs. 1: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. When we not only have a relationship with the Saviour, but we align ourselves as closely as we can with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will be held tight and have the hand of God directing our every move.
Be content. Vs 9. Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place…. We who dwell and abide have the promise of being continuously and meticulously cared for. Nothing can harm us.
Hang on tight. Vs. 14: Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; and Vs. 16: With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation. As we hold fast to Him, He holds fast to us and delivers us all the way to eternal life, our reward with Him.
Praise His wonderful Name.
