This morning the message highlighted the confidence we can have in the absolute truth of our Faith based on prophecies from the Old Testament and the confirmation of the coming to pass of those prophecies as reported in the New Testament.
It referenced eight specific prophecies from the period between 1000 and 500 BC, namely that: our Saviour would be born in Bethlehem, that He would have a precursor announcing Him, that He would ride on a donkey as a humble servant, that He would be betrayed by someone close to Him, that He would be bought for a price, that the bounty would go for profit, that He would be physically tortured, and that he would be put to death by crucifixion.
When we think today of how difficult it is today to predict what will happen even five or ten years down the road in our leadership, our economy, our technology, our families it is absolutely astounding to consider that the prophets accurately predicted so much of what was fulfilled in Jesus the Christ as far back as one thousand years before His coming.
