Running the Race
Kevin Rogler, our speaker this week reminded us that even the food we eat eventually goes stale but the word of God is always fresh.
Kevin very effectively used the analogy of a race to characterize our spiritual journey of Faith. Not a race in the context of competition but rather in reference to the course of our life that is God’s plan for us as we try to understand it through the ups and downs of our experience. We will all experience interruptions of various sorts during our ‘run’ but the challenge is to rely on the direction of the Holy Spirit, to recognize the love of God that inspires us, and to remain firm in Faith to Jesus to whom we commit our life journey.
Kevin’s references were from Paul’s letter to the Galatians chapters 1 and 3. We recommend reading them in detail.
We recall Paul’s enduring words: I have finished my race, I have kept my Faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
