FIRST THINGS FIRST – Matthew 6:33
The Bible has a lot to say about things that must come first, and today we are going to look at some of them.
1 Kings 17:13 Before seeing the fulfillment of the promise that the flour and oil would not run out the widow woman had to exercise faith and obedience and bake a cake for Elijah first.
Matthew 5:23-24 Before coming to worship God if we remember that our brother has something against us we are to first be reconciled to our brother then bring our gift.
Matthew 7:5 When tempted to be critical we are to first remove the plank from our own eyes so we can see clearly
Revelation 2:4-5 When conscious of having lost our first love we are to repent and do the first works.
Luke 9:59 and 61 This is not the response that God is looking for ‘Let me first”
2 Corinthians 8:5 This is the response God is pleased with. First gave themselves to God and then to the church
Matthew 6:33 Seeking first the kingdom of God in our personal lives, family relationships, our work and recreation.
Every day, in every decision, every desire and every duty seeking first the kingdom of God.
