The Old Testament Way – Faith or Works?
We examine the purpose and limitations of the Law given to Israel, highlighting that the Law reveals God’s holiness, shows humanity’s sinfulness, and points to the need for a Messiah. While the Law cannot make a person righteous or provide eternal life, it leads sinners to Christ, who fulfilled it perfectly. Salvation has always been by grace through faith, and Abraham is an example of one justified by faith, not works, as is David. Works are an outward expression of faith, but it is faith alone that justifies before God. Each of us needs a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, placing our full confidence in His sacrifice for salvation.
